Couch To The Huttle

He's back! Good old number 4 is off the couch and back in the huttle. This time his jersey is purple instead of green. Brett Favre got tired of sitting at home and got hungry for another championship. Picked up by the Minnesota Vikings after announcing his return, he has yet to disappoint in the 09 season. You can't expect anything less from a football great, being that he carried Green Bay for most of their amazing victories. The Vikings are soaring with an unbeaten record in the new season, but is it just lady luck on there side or are they feeling the 'Favre' magic? There is still tons of football left so a lot of questions will be answered. Will age be an obstacle with Favre pushing nearly 40 it has to be in the minds of the Vikings.

Favre's resume is something that most NFL players wish that they had, a championship in Superbowl 43 as well as three consecutive NFL most valuable player awards in 1995-1997. He is involved with charities as well as sponsoring a golf tournament. With these achievements what would spark someone to retire? Perhaps age or just accepting that your old and had enough. With that being said, what would prompt you to return to the sport? With something being a part of your life for so long maybe it was a sign of emptiness. Or maybe he had something to prove to the 'nay sayers' of the sports world for tearing him down when thoughts of returning were in the air. Everyone has there own opinion.

In my eyes it really does not matter why he came back whether for love or pride. The man is back and still throwing touch downs like he was back in Green Bay. Favre is one of the greats and will always be on of the greats no matter who comes along. His age will play a factor in the rest of the season though, most of the QB's are young and still on there first knees. The more hits he takes the more he gets worn down. The Vikings took a huge chance with Favre and were probably very skeptical. He put all that negative energy to rest by showcasing his natural ability and raw talent is still in top form. Number 4 and the vikings are going to be something to watch this season so keep your TV's tuned in and your beer cold!

Kimbo Goes To School

Its Kimbo's turn! Everyone has to agree that they have waited for this monster of a man and well known human wrecking machine to enter the UFC octagon. Well your wish has been granted. But is hype just a word or will Kimbo shut up doubters including the UFC president Dana White? It all starts in school. Thats the way I look at the american idol of cage fighting. He needs to first prove himself against 15 other hungry monsters all wanting the same thing. His teacher is well known fighter Rampage Jaskson. But the one question constantly comes up. Does Kimbo need a teacher?

On his feet Kimbo is a beast. Rock hard punches and superior boxing ability. But that's on his feet not the ground. He is strong but strength does not overcome ability. A skilled ground wrestler could easily defeat him. Going to fight school is a smart idea for him, he is a fast learner and with Rampage's temper he is going to want to listen. Kimbo entrance into Ultimate Fighter comes with a price on his head. His reputation is well known and with fame comes enemies or someone who wants to knock you off that mountain. Something which he has lived most of his life with.

In my opinion Kimbo is still the man. But he will get unseated or dropped once or twice. Even Brock Lesnar has lost before. Being a proclaimed street fighting king is a title one can be proud of, but the UFC doesn't have wannabe fighters. The UFC's fighters buy houses with the money they make from beating guys up. So Kimbo has his hands full. I want him to win the Ultimate Fighter and fight in UFC. It's time to actually test this beast and see what he is made of. If i was Dana White I would put Kimbo Slice in the main event against Brock Lesnar, but thats just me.
